An exhibition has been set up on the first floor of the former granary, a historic landmark. Much like a journey through time, visitors can learn about and experience the history and stories of the Hobrechtsfelde sewage field landscape here. Starting with the talking shepherd in the pasture forest, visitors encounter, among others, Berlin’s City Planning Commissioner James Hobrecht and the physician Rudolf Virchow, as well as a hands-on model of the sewage field and an interactive table. The content spans the history of the area, from the beginnings of the historic woodland pasture through the separation of forestry and agriculture, to the history of Berlin’s sewage fields and the closely related development of the Hobrechtsfelde municipal estate and the granary.
